Brilliant solutions for 45 years

With this year’s 50th anniversary of ISM, there will be more than one reason to celebrate. The year 2020 marks the 45th anniversary of CAPOL® 254N, CAPOL’s first ready-to-use glazing agent. The introduction to the market in 1975 marked an important milestone in the company’s history. A revolution those days, the product nowadays still is the gold standard in chocolate glazing for manufacturers worldwide.

A tradition of innovation

Since then, the CAPOL® portfolio has grown steadily and the extensive range of individual products clearly demonstrates CAPOL’s tradition as the innovation leader in surface treatment for confectionery. At this year’s ProSweets, CAPOL therefore celebrates the anniversary of ISM as well as 45 years of chocolate glazing solutions for the confectionery industry.

A special focus is therefore set on the development of CAPOL chocolate glazing solutions beginning with the 254 range until today’s product variety. All-in-one glazing solutions were one of the first product innovations resulting from continuous research. Designed for less stickiness and quick drying they reduce the finishing process by one step and work without a shellac sealing.

Since 2006/2007, to support nowadays’ key industry trend, the company introduced organic solutions according to the European BIO and American NOP standards. Today, CAPOL also offers a full range of chocolate glazing agents to meet sugar-free, vegan, vegetarian and kosher or halal requirements. The CAPOL® Performance Plus glazing range for chocolate-coated centers was developed to provide enhanced properties and achieve superior gloss at low dosages.

New developments for the future of sweets

Industry trends were always drivers for CAPOL to find new solutions that help its customers to be a step ahead. The latest trend for increased consumer attention to ingredients and labeling inspired CAPOL to support its confectionery-manufacturing customers with two new solutions: a label-friendly and a preservative-free glazing agent. They address the need for glazing agents which meet consumers’ demands for transparent and clear ingredient lists.
