Our CAPOLAN® range for coated goods covers fat-coated organic and inorganic raw materials for sprinkling onto deposited items such as gums and jellies, and extruded strings.

Organic acids – Flavourings with a taste for reactivity

Organic acids are popular ingredients for the production of sour sugared gum confectionery. They require special treatment though, as at high humidity they can react easily with the sugar on the surface. To prevent these reactions in the packaging, the organic acids need to be encapsulated with a special coating. The sour taste of organic acids, such as the favoured citric and malic acid can then fully develop in the mouth.

The coating – A secure barrier against undesired reactions

The coated CAPOLAN® range provides perfect protection from reactivity in organic and inorganic raw materials. The protective coating of CAPOLAN® products with inert fats provides a natural moisture barrier. This keeps reactive ingredients such as acids securely locked inside the product.

Your benefit: CAPOLAN® products ensure increased moisture protection, reduced dust formation and prevention of chemical reactions with other ingredients.

CAPOLAN® products are subject to constant monitoring by our QA department, comply with national and international food regulations. Kosher or Halal certificates are available on request.

CAPOLAN® products are usually blended with sugar and applied by sprinkling using conventional or specialised equipment. Do not hesitate to contact us for consultation with one of our application technologists.
